![]() A Sentimental Journey Thank you for visiting my webpage! MOBILE: 07891 309 536 Specialist entertainment for Dementia, Nursing, EMI, and Residential units, and for cared-for adults. *** Celebrating my 11th year in care home entertainment *** *** Full enhanced CRB *** *** Full Public Liability Insurance *** Why am I different? Having been in the business for over ten years, I am firmly of the belief that being a good entertainer requires a lot more than simply being a good singer. In my shows, it is the audience who are the important people in the room. I have found that residents enjoy a show so much more, when they feel they are part of the show. I like to try to make each resident feel special and important, through warm and gentle interaction, before, during and after the show. I do feel that if you have an entertainer who stays in the corner of the room, and doesn’t interact with your residents, you might as well save your money and put a CD on. Before the show I chat with the audience introduce myself and establish myself as a friendly and gentle presence in the room. I explain that I am here to sing with them rather than for them, and so I will be delighted if anyone would like to join in with me. I give out tambourines, maracas, and bells, and demonstrate how to hold them and shake them for any resident who may need help. Then we start the music. I continue interacting with the audience during the songs and introduce different activities for each song. I also have a spare wireless microphone which I offer to any resident who is singing with gusto, and I encourage hearty applause when a person has sung. After the show I give out beautiful personalised award certificates for singing, dancing and jingling (please click on “images” to see examples) Shows include: "The Good Old Days" - a good old fashioned sing-a-long (best seller!) “My Grandfather’s Clock” - vintage songs your residents sang to their children (especially useful for where there is a large age-range) “Oh I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside” – seaside summer songs & shanties (performed in my vintage Victorian bathing suit) "Whip-crack-away!!!" - Country & Western favourites (great for a theme party – yeeeee-haaaaa!) "Daydream Believer" - the sounds of the 50s & 60s – (ideal for younger seniors and parties) "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" – mixed sing-along, with songs from the Emerald Isle - also ideal for St Patrick's Day "In your Easter Bonnet" - bring out those chicks and bunnies!
